Overview
FTP uses two connection modes: Active and Passive. Most users should always use Passive mode.
We assume you’re already logged into your Eclipse Web Portal.
If you need help logging in, please follow the relevant login guides.
Active FTP
-
Server initiates the data connection
-
Often blocked by firewalls
-
Not recommended for modern networks
Passive FTP (Recommended)
-
Client initiates all connections
-
Works behind firewalls and routers
-
More reliable and secure
Recommendation
Always enable Passive mode in your FTP client (e.g. FileZilla).
