    When emails are marked as spam, it is usually due to authentication, reputation, or content issues. Spam filtering is automated and strict, especially for new or misconfigured domains.

    Most common reasons emails go to spam

    1. Missing or incorrect DNS authentication

    • No SPF record

    • DKIM not enabled

    • DMARC missing or misconfigured

    Receiving mail servers use these records to verify that your emails are legitimate.

    2. New domain or mailbox

    • New domains have no sending reputation

    • Sending large volumes immediately can trigger filters

    Recommendation:
    Start with low-volume sending and increase gradually.

    3. Content triggers

    • Excessive links or images

    • ALL CAPS or aggressive language

    • Words commonly associated with spam

    • Poorly formatted HTML emails

    4. Blacklisted IP or domain

    • Past abuse

    • Compromised mailbox sending spam

    • Shared IP reputation issues


    How to improve deliverability

    • Ensure SPF, DKIM and DMARC are correctly set

    • Use a real “From” address (not noreply@)

    • Include plain-text versions of emails

    • Avoid sending bulk campaigns from mailbox accounts

    • Monitor bounce-back messages
