How to Delete an FTP Account in the Eclipse Portal

Follow these steps to remove an FTP account you no longer need. we assume you're already logged into your portal account.

2. Go to the FTP Accounts Section

  • Scroll to the Files group

  • Click FTP Accounts

3. Find the FTP Account to Remove

  • Scroll down to the FTP Accounts list

  • Locate the account you want to delete

4. Delete the Account

  • Click the Delete button next to the user

You will be presented with two options:

  1. Delete Account

    • Removes only the FTP login — keeps the user’s files on the server

  2. Delete Account and Files

    • Removes the FTP login and permanently deletes associated files

    • Use caution — this action cannot be undone

Select the option that fits your situation.

5. Confirmation

  • After selecting, you’ll see a confirmation message indicating the account was removed


Important Notes

  • If the FTP user had access to a shared directory (e.g., the entire public_htmlDeleting files could impact your website

  • Always double-check the directory before confirming “Delete Account and Files”
